A fearless musical about being true to yourself

The Plastics have deemed Broadway Junior worthy of their presence in Mean Girls JR! This "fetch" musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) is packed with keen wit, an undeniably catchy score, and a sincere message for everyone.

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign with Cady going undercover as an aspiring Plastic. When the lines between the real Cady and her Plastic self get blurred, she must find her way back to herself and her true friends.
Mean Girls Jr is a training production for grades 6-12yrs ( younger students please inquire) . Students will grow and learn while putting together a 75minute production.

REHEARSALS
  • Rehearsals begin June 24th. Performances August 9th and 10th
  • ALL CAST- Tuesdays 5:00-8:30pm
  • Each week select individuals/small groups will be scheduled to meet on a Thursday 5:00-8:30pm. TH schedule will change weekly depending on what scene, music or choreography we are working on. We will make every effort to work with individuals'/families' schedules- including out of town vacations. TH scheduled will be announced 1-2weeks in advance. 


WEEKLY REHEARSAL VENUE: TBA We will maintain our current rehearsal location areas close to Disney Springs/FL mall/Mall at Millenia.
TECH REHEARSALS: August 4th/5th/6th 5:00-8:30pm at TBA
TECH REHEARSAL: August 8th at Orlando Shakespeare Theater
PERFORMANCES: August 9th and 10th at Orlando Shakespeare Theater 


We have streamlined audition and training production registration- to just ONE registration! Everyone who registers will receive a part. Whether your student has many years of theater training and performing experience or your student is completely new to theater, there is a part for everyone!
 

Everyone who registers and returns registration will be cast in a part!

 
AUDITIONS
  • ONLINE AUDITION SUBMISSIONS due 05/15/25. Students will submit one song in the style of the show ( 16-32 bars. Please do not sing from the show. ) and one comedic monologue(30seconds-1minute). Applicants may choose to either attend in-person dance audition or submit a dance reel. Select students will be requested to attend CALLBACKS on 06/04/25 4:30pm
  • IN PERSON AUDITIONS 05/05/25 11:00-12:00 audition/12:00-12:30 dance audition or 05/06/25 4:15-5:15 audition/5:15-5:45 dance audition Students will submit one song in the style of the show ( 16-32 bars. Please do not sing from the show. ) and one comedic monologue(30seconds-1minute). Applicants may choose to either attend in-person dance audition or submit a dance reel. Select students will be requested to attend CALLBACKS on 06/04/25 4:30pm
  • DANCE AUDITION Applicants may choose to either attend in-person dance audition 05/05/25 12:00-12:30 or 05/06/25 5:15-5:45 or submit a dance reel. 
  • IF your student is new to auditioning and feeling too anxious to audition- Your student may join us for a privately scheduled MEET & GREET - where we can informally get to know your child ( in lieu of audition)
  • A Beetlejuice Jr Training Production and Audition REGISTRATION FORM and DEPOSIT are due as part of Audition and registration process.​​

PRODUCTION FEES


DEPOSIT 
A $100 Deposit is due with training production and audition registration. Deposits go towards paying for leasing the script and venue deposits. Deposit is non-refundable, non-transferable.

PRODUCTION FEE BALANCE IS PAYABLE
  • One Full Installment $500 one student/ $450 sibling - $25 payment in full discount= $475/$425 due with registration.
  • Installment Payment Plan $125/installment due #1 05/01/25, #2 06/01/25, #3 07/01/25, #4 08/01/25


Please know AWH will not turn anyone away due to financial hardship. We are passionate about and dedicated to making the arts available to all interested. There is a space on the registration form to request a partial scholarship. Due to AWH being a small business and the stress providing scholarships puts on our finances- parents of students who do not receive the FES-UA or PEP scholarships will be prioritized.


REFUND POLICY:
​Deposit is non-refundable/non-transferable. Production Fee balance is non-refundable- but is transferable to another student. There is no reduction in fee for a student who misses classes or does not participate- no exceptions.

    Please note- students who need one on one assistance are welcome and encouraged to join! We request a " shadow" - a one on one helper- provided by the family. Helper can be an older sibling, parent or hired helper.  This will ensure all the children in the cast receive the attention and assistance needed to thrive and succeed.
