Intro to Dance- Recital Session
Young children get excited when taught with a playful approach in a positive environment. Our teachers engage a young dancer's attention by introducing the basic concepts of classical ballet, creative movement, music appreciation, rhythm and poise thru songs, rhymes, props, stories, and one's imagination. Skills and activities promote gross motor skills, body awareness, balance, coordination, grace, and musicality, they foster self-esteem, they develop focus, listening skills, turn taking, and following directions and they encourage engaging social experiences. We strive to make the first experiences in dance POSITIVE and FUN! INTRO TO DANCE ages 3-6yrs( older students welcome to register!) Begin the exciting journey into dance with ballet and creative movement FUN! Dancers will be introduced to basic ballet skills, locomotor skills, and body alignment- learning skills through singing, acting out song lyrics, and movement games. Props such as scarves, wands, fairy wings, hula hoops, parachutes and bean bags are used to enhance the learning experience. Skills and activities promote: - gross motor skills - body awareness - balance - spatial relations - coordination - grace - musicality - develop self expression - foster self-esteem - develop focus and listening skills - encourage turn taking, - provide a creative and nurturing environment for positive social experiences. We strive to make the first experiences in dance POSITIVE and FUN! Join Arts With Heart for our spring performance, Let's Go To the Movies! Intro to Dance class will rehearse and perform on the Marshall Ellis Performing Arts stage- but rehearsal is minimal and your dancer may sit with you for the entire performance except when dancing on stage. Our goal is to make performing child friendly and FUN! DRESS REHEARSAL Held at Marshall Ellis Performing Arts Friday, May 3rd time- TBD Intro to Dance will be assigned a 30minute window for rehearsal time some time between 12:00-4:00pm. TWO PERFORMANCES ( attendance at both performances is required) At Marshall Ellis Performing Arts - Sunday, May 5th performance #1 TBD. Call time- TBD - Sunday, May 5th performance #2 TBD. Arts With Heart DANCE CLASSES are held at the Rosen JCC, 11184 Apopka-Vineland Rd, Orlando
